That’s right, I’m moving in! My lovely week with Guadelupe, Ilse and Gordo is over on Sunday morning and I was going to go back to the hotel I stayed in last week for a week or so because I know a few people there or I was going to move into this other place closer to the school I want to attend the following week, but Stef said there was a room available at la oficina and I’d be welcome to stay there. It’s about $100 for the entire month, ¡FANTÁSTICO! There’s a kitchen entonces puedo cocinar desayuno, almuerzo y cena and it’s really really close to work!
Went over design ideas with Stef today and he seemed to really like them, so full steam ahead! I sketched it using Spanish explanations, and I’ll take some pics of the layout in the next few days and post, but I had to explain it to him in a mix of English and Spanish. Good thing I had pictures! Also started playing around with Spanish Photoshop today and will be working with Spanish InDesign too. So psyched, this project should really solidify what I’m learning in school.
So today we did the imperfect tense. Y mi tarea de el pretérito fue perfecta! I’m still such a teacher’s pet. I just can’t help myself. We did some great exercises today and I translated a bunch of sentences and Miriam was really impressed and keeps telling me how well I’m doing, but I still feel inept when I speak. Our first conversation was about a dream I had last night. It was about Matthew Fox and in the dream I was trying to seduce him with the past tense and stomach exercises. I think the abdominal theme of the dream comes from my omnipresent money belt, which I’ve been calling mi estómago extra. Anyway, apparently that combo works, because he was very interested and after we did some sit-ups, he asked me to go to lunch, but I didn’t put two and two together and stupidly said no, because I already ate. He looked really surprised and disappointed and that was the end of the dream. So I did all those stomach exercise por nada. Sheesh. Of course, when I told Miriam the dream, I used the past tense, and I was so excited to use it correctly. Who knew that one of the uses of the imperfect tense is to describe dreams?
Okay, weather update. It was absolutely gorgeous today. Sunny, dry, cool. There were some threatening clouds after lunch (which was hamburgeusas pequeñas, ensalada de macaroni y tortillas) but it only sprinkled a bit in the middle of the afternoon. Right now, it’s pouring, complete with scary thunder and lightning. Started a few minutes ago. MUY LOCO.
Ooops, almost time for dinner and more homework. Más mañana.
Oh Tricia, this dream made me crack up. Please, you must share how one seduces someone with the past tense. Scoring that room AT YOUR JOB??? SO COOL! Why is mother nature always mocking you?
Yeah, it was a pretty funny dream. I did watch a lot of episodes of LOST last month, so my subconscious must have caught up with my conscious.
Mother Nature and the MTA…no sé prima, no sé. Today was gorgeous all day, not a drop of rain…there´s still a few hours before all of that can change.
xoxo
This room is so you!!
Who’s Matthew Fox?
He should have persisted, maybe use the present tense?
LOVE YA
He´s the dark-haired actor from LOST, which I watched A LOT of on Netflix.
I´m laughing about your present tense comment, very poetic mamasita
xoxo
you certainly are keeping extremely busy!! Keeping up with the NY pace – huh?
The room in the pic looks interesting – is that a stained wood ceiling? Just beautiful!
Matthew Fox should have realized – u had eaten dinner and were just interested in dessert! lol
xoxo
Hee hee…I think I actually prefer the other guy on that show, surprisingly, since Matthew Fox is more my type.
Anyway, yes, that´s a wooden ceiling, and that´s the room I work in, the room I will be sleeping in is much smaller but really cute and sufficient. And mas barata!! xxxoo
The “other” guy from Lost lol Sawyer? (James Ford) My favorite show – loved it – great to analyze. Like him mucho better!!
Mas barata and very convenient! lol
I know, Sawyer was much more interesting to me (y más caliente también) than Jack, hands down!
